How to Watch Syria vs Qatar in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 on beIN SPORTS
Match Preview
It’s a duel of Spanish coaches in Al Rayyan as Jose Lana’s Syria, who stunned Tunisia on Matchday 1, take on Julen Lopetegui’s Qatar, a side under growing pressure.
Syria’s impressive run — capped by wins over Tunisia and South Sudan — puts them on the verge of a shock qualification to the knockout rounds. Qatar, meanwhile, have won only two of Lopetegui’s eight matches, and another defeat would spark serious alarm for the hosts.
Players to Watch
- Mohammad Al Salkhadi (Syria):
An old-school winger who thrives on beating defenders off the dribble — and who jokes he broke plenty of household items growing up — Al Salkhadi is Syria’s spark plug in attack.
- Lucas Mendes (Qatar):
The experienced defender was one of the few steadying forces for Qatar in their opener, dominating duels and helping maintain possession. He’ll be tasked with slowing down Al Salkhadi.

What They Said
Mohammad Al Salkhadi, Syria forward:
“I don’t want to look too far ahead and say how far we can go, but the aim is to win every match. Whether it’s now or in a final, we have to perform first — then we’ll see what happens.”
