The Argentine found the net at home against Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sevilla, Union Saint-Gilloise, and Inter Milan, but away from home clubs like Alavés, Mallorca, Celta de Vigo, Arsenal, Getafe, and now Barcelona have successfully shut him down.

“We need to improve and maintain consistency, which is the most difficult thing,” said coach Diego Pablo Simeone, highlighting the team’s competitiveness and continued form in recent weeks. Under his leadership, the squad is on a run of seven consecutive wins across all competitions.

LaLiga Title Race Tightens

With the 3–1 win over Atlético, Barcelona remain at the top of the standings with 34 points. Following them are Real Madrid with 33, Villarreal with 32, and then Atlético de Madrid with 31.

The next league test will be a critical trip to San Mamés against Athletic Club, a venue where Real Madrid were defeated last season even with Kylian Mbappé missing penalties. Meanwhile, the Champions League clash vs PSV on December 9 will also demand a decisive performance from Álvarez, who continues searching for that elusive away goal.
